GREAT WALK LAKE WABBY, K’GARI / FRASER ISLAND

Follow in the footsteps of the native Butchulla people on World Heritage-listed K’Gari (Fraser Island), the world’s largest sand island. The 90k, six to eight day walk traces along old logging routes between Dilli Village and Happy Valley, traversing subtropical rainforest, mangroves and along stretches of golden beaches.

Take the rainforest boardwalk around Wanggoolba Creek, a cool dip in the crystal blue waters of Lake McKenzie and marvel at the soaring sand dune at Lake Wabby. Stop by Central Station and always be sure keep a look out for dingoes.
